I graduated as a dentist from Trinity College Dublin in 2000 and worked in general practice near London for 3 years. After some time travelling in South America, I trained as a Prosthodontist at the University of Iowa, USA. A fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas followed and provided valuable instruction in preprosthetic and implant surgery. Due to the nature of cancer treatment, training in this field makes one comfortable managing cases of severely compromised oral health and function. Four years of immersion in Prosthodontics was an incredibly worthwhile experience for me. If you are interested in doing something similar, I would be happy to chat about the options available in Ireland, the US or the UK.
On returning from the US, I worked at the Eastman Dental Institute in London and in a great specialist practice in Cambridge, UK. While I was very happy there, fate conspired, in the form of a Timaru local, to bring me to Christchurch where I set up my Prosthodontic practice in 2015. I'm really appreciative of the support I have received from the my staff, patients and dental colleagues to date - many thanks to one and all!
My aim is to provide healthcare that listens to you and works with you in a gentle and patient manner. Any treatment will go through careful planning and interactive feedback to achieve predictable functional and aesthetic outcomes. Ideally, your General Dental Practitioner will continue as an important part of your oral health care team. I look forward to becoming part of the Christchurch/Canterbury oral health team.
